     I'll start off with mentioning some important dates

5th July 2008 : Tour De France 2008 starts
9th July 2008 : Mark Cavendish wins the stage, becoming the ninth, and youngest, British tour stage winner (joining David Millar, Robert Millar, Chris Boardman, Barry Hoban, Brian Robinson, Max Sciandri, Michael Wright and Sean Yates)
12th July 2008 : Mark Cavendish wins the stage, becoming the second British two-time tour stage winner (joining Barry Hoban)
14th July 2008 : Frank Schleck produces a fantastic climb to Hautacam, missing out on the yellow jersey by one ridiculous second
17th July 2008 : Mark Cavendish wins the stage, becoming the first British three-time tour stage winner
18th July 2008 : Mark Cavendish wins the stage, becoming the first British four-time tour stage winner
20th July 2008 : Frank Schleck produced a fantastic climb to Prato Nevoso, taking the yellow jersey by seven magnificent seconds
23rd July 2008 : Carlos Sastre wins on Alpe d'Huez, taking the overall lead from team-mate Frank Schleck
26th July 2008 : Despite what all the pundits had predicted, the wee violent disgrace that is Cadel Evans blew the last chance to win Le Tour
27th July 2008 : Tour De France 2008 finishes, with Carlos Sastre winning
27th July 2008 : Dmitriy Fofonov, 19th overall, fails a drugs test. As is MarcFisher.co.uk policy (which resulted in this being the first webpage to produce the final full 2006 standings without Floyd Landis) Fofonov will not be included in the overall standings, regardless of if the official tour organisers decide to do so
