After previous games as a demonstration sport, taekwondo took the step up to full olympic sport status for the Games of the XXVII Olympiad in Sydney. Due to the physicality of the sport, taekwondo probably uses the most protective padding of all olympic events. Since the competition area is 10 metres by 10 metres, it can be held almost anywhere, it's just a matter of picking where would be the most appropriate place.
Location - St Joseph's Chruch Hall
Taekwondo : With St Joseph's new hall currently being built to olympic standards it was an obvious choice to host some olympic sport. Taekwondo was the only candidate with such great similarities between it and catholicism - both involve wearing white, consider themselves a philosophy, and discourage hitting people in the face with your hands. My only request would be that the national anthems were played on the church organ.
