Having been introduced as an olympic sport at Seoul's Games of the XXIV Olympiad, olympic level table tennis has been entirely dominated by South Korea and China, leaving everyone else ever to compete for bronze. Essentially tennis played on a table, one big difference is the balls are made from a high-bouncing gas-filled celluloid ball. The 2020 table tennis gold medalists will be remembered forever, celluloid heroes never really die.
Location - Homebase
Table Tennis : To host a table tennis tournament you need very few things, mainly players and a table. With a whole section dedicated to tables, Homebase was the only real choice. I would actually allow a proper table tennis table in the area, resisting all urges to make the althletes compete on good local wood. Centrally located beside "the roundabout" (the other two in Milngavie are too small and too non-central to be considered to be "the roundabout"), Homebase would be easy to get to, and a large enough to accommodate literally lots of people.
