Despite having been horse riding in the Yukon (my horse was called Shadow), equestrian is still a sport I haven't watched much of. Equestrian takes the form of dressage (where the horses just sort of run around a bit), show jumping (where the horses jump around a bit) and the three day events (a cross between dressage, show jumping and cross country). It has been in every olympic games since Games of the V Olympiad, and one before then.
Location - Mugdock
Equestrian : The only place in Milngavie with enough mixed terrain to host the cross country, Mugdock Coutry Park was the natural choice. The horses at the nearby stables would have the home advantage, and the chance to take the gold in one of the only olympic sports in which men, women and horses compete as equals.
