Every olympic host nation has the option of trying to get new sports included at the expense of an old one (like Beijing 2008 opting for BMX racing since they manufacture most of the bikes), or puting on demonstration sports, which shows off a local sport but isn't awarded at olympic level (like wushu in Beijing 2008, or lifesaving in Paris 1900). There is only one real choice for Milngavie's demonstration sport, a sport played by true gentleman and one of the few completely drug-free sports left in the world. With four golf courses in such a small town, I had to choose the thing that so many Milngaviers look forwards to every summer...
